Akiharu Kitagawa placed 15th out of 19 runners and Austin Steagall finished 16th in the 5000 meters on the final day of the 2015 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship Saturday at Allendale, Mich. University of Mount Olive was represented at the NCAA II Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the third year in a row.

Kitagawa and Steagall were in the back of the pack for the early part of the race. Both runners made a kick just past the midway point of the race, but were unable to catch up to the lead pack.

Kitagawa posted a time of 15:14.52, while Steagall finished with a time of 15:22.59.

Tabor Stevens of Adams State (Colo.) won for the second year in a row.

Both Kitagawa and Steagall were competing in their second NCAA Championship of 2014-15. Both runners competed for the Trojans at the 2014 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship in November.
