A native of Garner, North Carolina, Sanchez delivered a brace in her debut with Mount Olive, as the Trojans battled to a 4-4 draw against Wingate in non-conference play. She registered the opening goal of the season for UMO, coming in the 27th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first half. At the 77:06 mark, Sanchez scored the go-ahead goal off an assist by senior Samantha Hamrick before the contest finished in a tie on Sunday.
