University of Mount Olive

Jennifer Charles was named head women's volleyball coach at University of Mount Olive in March 2016. She also serves as assistant coach for the Trojan men's volleyball team.

Charles arrived at Mount Olive with five years of volleyball coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level, most recently at North Carolina Central University, where she spent the past two months as interim head coach after serving as assistant coach during the fall season. She spent two years as a volunteer assistant coach at University of North Carolina, which posted a combined 54-10 record during Charles' two years. The Tar Heels advanced to the 2014 NCAA Division I Elite Eight in her second season and set school records with a 29-3 record and a No. 7 ranking in the AVCA National Coaches Poll.

She also served as first assistant coach for one season at Kennesaw State University and as a volunteer assistant coach at University of Alabama-Birmingham. In addition to Division I coaching experience, Charles spent a year as an assistant coach at Midland (Junior) College and has five years of experience of coaching club volleyball.

Charles earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University, where she competed in both volleyball and track and field. She earned her master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania.
