Jordan Germano

Jordan Germano was named assistant men's soccer coach at Mount Olive in August 2013 after serving as a volunteer assistant soccer coach the previous year.

2016 was the first season under new head coach Sean Brennan and saw the Trojans go 7-8-1 overall and 5-5 in Conference Carolinas. Germano helped UMO finish the season on a seven game win-streak including five shutouts and a 2-1 win over conference rival Barton.

In 2015, Germano aided the Trojans to an 8-9-1 record with a 6-2 conference record. The season came to an end with a run to the Conference Carolinas semifinal game after defeating King by penalty kicks in a nil-nil quarterfinal tie.

Mount Olive has earned a berth in the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Tournament in each of Germano's first three years at Mount Olive. In 2014, the Trojans posted two wins over national top 25 teams and took nationally 12th-ranked Limestone to double overtime.

In 2012, Germano's first year at Mount Olive, the Trojans advanced to the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament for the first time since 2006. Mount Olive went unbeaten in its final five regular season matches, including a draw against a nationally ranked team. In addition, Mount Olive won the 2012-13 Conference Carolinas Sportsmanship Award for Men's Soccer.

Prior to UMO, Germano was the Franklinton High School (Franklinton, N.C.) boys' and girls' varsity soccer coach. He also taught health and physical education and served as the H/PE Department Chair. In 2011, he led the FHS boys' soccer team to its first North Carolina Conference Championship in four years. Germano also led his girls' soccer team to a 20-2-2 record, the NSCAA Adidas Team Academic Award, and second place in the conference.

Germano received his master's of science with honors in exercise science from Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, he served as a teaching assistant and received the Researchers' Assistant Award for Excellence. He also served as the student-assistant strength and conditioning coach for men's and women's soccer. He went on to perform his internship at world-renowned Athletes Performance in Phoenix, Ariz., where he trained professional and Olympic athletes. He studied under Mark Verstegen, strength and conditioning coach for the German National Soccer Team.

Before relocating to North Carolina, Germano served as assistant men's varsity soccer coach at Mountain Creek State High School in Queensland, Australia and Owego-Appalachian High School in Owego, N.Y.

Germano earned his undergraduate degree at State University of New York at Cortland (SUNY), where he was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America. He transferred to SUNY-Cortland from Herkimer County Community College, where he was recognized as an NJCAA All-America and an NSCAA Scholar Athlete.

Coach Germano holds an NSCAA National Soccer Coaching Diploma and NSCAA Level Three Goal Keeping Diploma. He is an NSCAA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has a North Carolina certificate of teaching K-12 Health & Physical Education.

Germano and his wife Sarah were married in May 2013.
