Montre Cash was named as an Assistant Coach in August of 2021.
Cash received his bachelor of Art in Communication from Averett University in May 2021. During his four years at Averette he was a student worker with the sports communications department, worked basketball camps and enjoyed doing community service. Cash was a four-year member of the Men's Basketball Team where he was an all-conference selection and lead the Cougars in points and assist in this senior year.
"Extremely excited to add Montre to our program as an assistant coach, as he had an outstanding career at Averett University. Montre has a lot of passion for the game of basketball, and will be a great asset for the young men in our program," said Higginbotham.
"I am excited to start my coaching career here at the University of Mount Olive. The opportunity to coach under Coach Higginbotham and Coach Snow is one I look forward too. From learning the game, and learning the in and outs of being the best coach I can be everyday. I know that they will provide me with all the knowledge to be successful," said Cash.
