Mount Olive seized momentum early, using a 10-2 run midway through the first set to build a commanding lead before closing out the opener. Converse responded with a 19-10 run after trailing 11-10 in the second set to even the match, then carried that momentum into the final two frames behind an efficient offensive attack that hit .452 in the third set and .439 in the fourth.

The Trojans finished with 50 kills and 81 digs but were unable to overcome Converse's .287 team hitting percentage and 8-2 advantage in total blocks.
