Trojans Earn NCAA Tournament Berth, Set for Southeast Regional Matchup with Catawba

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team earned the No. 8 seed in the Southeast Region for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship, as announced Monday evening by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee.

The Trojans (14-5) will face No. 1 seed Catawba (18-1) in the opening round of the NCAA Southeast Regional on Monday, May 11, at 10 a.m. The match will be played at the Johnson Tennis Center in Salisbury.

Mount Olive secured its NCAA Tournament berth after putting together another strong campaign, highlighted by a perfect 11-0 Conference Carolinas record and a Conference Carolinas regular season championship. The Trojans are led by Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year Andrew Sendek and
Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year Rasmus Grindheim, while the program also collected multiple postseason honors during the 2025-26 season.


This marks the third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history for the Trojans and the first since the 2024 season. Mount Olive will also be seeking its first NCAA postseason victory in school history.


The winner of the regional site will advance to the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship Finals, scheduled for May 20-24 in Surprise, Arizona.
