MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. (April 4) – The University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team loses 18-13 to the Bear cats of Lees-McRae College in Saturday afternoon action.
With the loss, Mount Olive falls to 4-6 over all this season and now drops to 4-3 in conference.
Senior
Benjamin Vanderkley collected seven points in today's game with six goals and one assist, grabbing three ground balls and causing one turnover. Senior
Micaiah Boyle scoring two goals alongside sophomore Brayden Reiger who had two goals and one assist. Juniors
Bryce Ailiff and
Trent Steele and freshman
Julian Amick all had one goal, Steele adding one assist to his stats.
On defense, senior
Nicolas Logue won 14 of the 30 face offs he was involved in winning 6 ground balls and had one assist. Freshman
David Androes had two assists with four ground balls and one caused turnover.
Senior goalkeeper
Kurtis Lensing totaled 11 saves on 34 shots faced in his 60 minutes of action stealing three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
The Trojans will continue to play on Saturday, April 11, against Virginia State University in non-conference play at 1 p.m. away in Petersburg, Va.
