In December 2024, the NCAA announced a long-term extension for the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championship to remain at the USA National Training Complex in Cary NC through 2038. The University of Mount Olive and Cary will continue to serve as the hosts. In addition, the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance will continue to provide local host support for the baseball championship. It is believed to be just the fourth-ever long-term contract in Division II. The new agreement ensures Mount Olive and Cary will become the longest-hosting partnership in NCAA Division II baseball history.

Mount Olive won the 2008 National Championship in Sauget, Ill., the year before the National Championship moved to Cary. The Trojans reached the National Championship again in 2011 and finished in a tie for third.
