Mount Olive Downs North Greenville in Four-Set Conference Victory

MOUNT OLIVE — Mount Olive men's volleyball secured a 3-1 conference victory over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon inside Kornegay Arena, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, and 25-21.

The Trojans controlled the early momentum, taking the opening set behind an efficient offensive showing and capitalizing on North Greenville errors. Mount Olive continued its strong play in the second set, holding off a late rally from the Crusaders to claim a 25-23 win and a 2-0 lead in the match.

North Greenville responded in the third set, pulling away late for a 25-22 victory to extend the match. In the fourth, Mount Olive regained control, using key points down the stretch and a solid defensive presence at the net to secure the 25-21 set win and close out the match.

Kory Grant paced the Trojan attack with 17 kills, followed by Brooks Ignosci with 13 and Matthew Ekberg with 12. Jackson Lahey directed the offense with 47 assists, while the Trojans' defense tallied 14.5 total blocks in the win.

The Trojans play host to King (Tenn.) University in their next contest at home on Friday, Mar. 27 at 7 p.m.
