MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team battled Chowan University to a 0-0 draw Tuesday evening at Amon Field.

The Trojans (6-5-6, 4-2-6 Conference Carolinas) controlled much of the offensive action, outshooting the Hawks (4-10-1, 4-7-1 Conference Carolinas) 17-6 while putting five shots on target. Mount Olive generated nine shots in the second half as it continued to pressure the Chowan defense in search of the go-ahead goal.

Mount Olive created several scoring opportunities throughout the contest, including early attempts from Yaneli Sanchez and Madyson Brown that were saved by Chowan goalkeeper Kylee Smith. Emma Harnage also tested the Hawks' defense with three shots, including one on target.

The Trojans maintained their defensive discipline throughout the match, limiting Chowan to just six total shots. Goalkeeper Anais Coyne recorded three saves to secure the shutout for Mount Olive.

Despite the offensive pressure from both sides, neither team was able to find the back of the net as the match ended in a scoreless draw.

Mount Olive returns to action against Francis Marion University at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the regular season finale.
