WINGATE — The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Wingate University on Wednesday evening at the WU Soccer Complex in Wingate, North Carolina.

The Trojans (2-11-0) and Bulldogs (5-5-2) played a scoreless first half, with Mount Olive recording six shots and earning four corner kicks. Goalkeeper Josiah Jones helped keep the contest even through the opening 45 minutes, recording three saves as Wingate attempted nine shots.

Wingate broke through early in the second half when Austin Vicenzino scored in the 48th minute off an assist from Sven Hallgrimsson to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 advantage. They advanced their lead in the 76th and 78th minutes, with goals from David Serdynski and Cole Freeman.

Mount Olive continued to search for an equalizer, finishing with 13 shots and eight corner kicks. Rami Bayoumi recorded one shot on goal, while Siddig Mohamed also put an attempt on target in the second half. However, the Trojans were unable to find the back of the net.
