Trojans Fall at Home to Conference Leading Patriots, 69-47

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team fell to Conference Carolinas leader Francis Marion, 69–47, Wednesday evening inside Kornegay Arena.

The Trojans stayed competitive early, trailing just 16–11 after the first quarter and 30–23 at halftime. Mount Olive battled on the glass and in the paint, but Francis Marion used efficient shooting and timely runs to pull away in the second half.

Jerin Truesdale led the Trojans with 14 points, adding five rebounds, while Jada Priebe  and Kayla Jackson contributed seven points each. Savannah McAfee finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

The Trojans battled hard putting up 16 points in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Patriots. UMO travels to Young Harris for its next contest on Saturday at 2 p.m.
