McLamb, Kirby Duo Pivotal in the Trojans' Blowout Victory over Erskine, 97-67

MOUNT OLIVE - Mount Olive delivered a dominant performance on its home floor Friday afternoon, rolling past Erskine 97–67 at Kornegay Arena in Conference Carolinas action.

The Trojans set the tone early and never looked back, shooting an efficient 60 percent from the field while building a commanding 47–26 halftime advantage. Mount Olive's offense was balanced and relentless, with strong ball movement and consistent pressure on both ends of the floor leading to a wire-to-wire victory.

Matt Kirby led the way for Mount Olive, pouring in 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including four three-pointers, while also adding four rebounds and three assists. Jefferson McLamb provided a huge spark off the bench, matching Kirby with 21 points after knocking down seven triples in just 14 minutes of action. Christian Ananaba added 18 points and six rebounds, while Jaevian Alston controlled the paint with 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.

The Trojans showed no signs of slowing down after the break, opening the second half with another offensive surge and extending their lead to as many as 31 points. Mount Olive shot better than 65 percent in the second half and continued to capitalize in transition, scoring 16 fast-break points on the afternoon.

With the win, Mount Olive improved to 6–9 overall and 3–4 in Conference Carolinas play. The Trojans will carry their momentum into their matchup with Lees-McRae on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4 pm in Banner Elk, NC.
