GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 3) – The University of Mount Olive track & field program traveled a select group to the Aggie Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T, as the Trojans pursued improved national marks ahead of the final week of the regular season.
The 4x100-meter relay team of junior
Haniyyah Johnson, freshman
Futoria Harris, freshman
Sanyiah Shields, and senior
Lasira Nicholson hit the NCAA provisional standard and set a season-best time of 45.55 seconds to place third overall.
In the long jump, Johnson finished as the runner-up with a season-best leap of 5.78 meters on her final attempt. Freshman
Janara Bryant registered a third-place finish with a distance of 5.77 meters.
Harris placed fifth overall in the 100 meters after crossing the line in 11.73 seconds.
In the triple jump, junior
Brendin Marks placed seventh overall with a leap of 14.34 meters on his second attempt of the event. On the women's side, senior
Karla Hormazabal posted a ninth-place finish with a distance of 11.93 meters.

Jacoby Pevia, junior
Jason Hart, junior
Jamavie Glover, and graduate student
Brian Saul finished fourth with a time of 41.17 seconds.
Mount Olive will return to action on Thursday, May 8, as it hosts the Mount Olive First Chance meet at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
