SNOW HILL, N.C. (April 6) – The University of Mount Olive women's golf program sits atop the team standings on Sunday following the first round of play at the Conference Carolinas Championships, hosted at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.
The Trojans fired a score of 31-over 311 to hold the opening-day lead with two rounds to play at the league tournament. UNC Pembroke sits just two strokes back in second place after carding a 25-over 313, while Barton rounds out the top three with a 26-over 314.

Aoi Ito and sophomore
Lucie Levet are tied for sixth overall. Aoi tallied 12 pars in the first round while converting a birdie on the par-four 12th hole. She shot an impressive one-over on the back nine to card a final score of four-over 76. Levet played the front and back nine at two-over with 12 pars and two birdies to shoot a final score of four-over 76.
Sophomore
Valentina Agostino sits in a tie for 11th overall after firing a five-over 77 on Sunday. She totaled 12 pars and made a birdie on the par-four 6th hole. Senior
Victoria Morelli shot a 10-over 82 with nine pars in the initial 18 holes of competition. Junior
Violette Daudin registered a 12-over 84 with two birdies and seven pars and is tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard.
Abigail Cheney of Shorter and Tamara Brito of Young Harris hold the individual lead after carding a one-over 73.
The Trojans return to action at the Conference Carolinas Championships tomorrow, Monday, April 7, with tee times at 9:00 a.m.
