CORALVILLE, IA (March 7) – Sophomore Ayonna McNeill and freshman Lillian Prendergast competed at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) on Friday, as the Trojans concluded the 2024-25 season with a third-straight trip to the national tournament.

The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling program qualified two individuals for the national event, as McNeill placed third and Prendergast finished fourth in their respective weight classes at regionals. In the three-year history of the program, the Trojans have featured 12 national qualifiers.

In the 103-weight class, Prendergast suffered a first-round loss to No. 12 ranked Brianne Graves of North Central following a late second-period pin. In the consolation bracket, she claimed a 10-0 tech fall against Gianna Hernandez of West New England before dropping an 8-0 decision to No. 3 Rayana Sahagun of Grand Valley State.

McNeill competed at 124 and battled in the first round before suffering a loss on a 5-5 decision due to criteria, which awards the win to the last wrestler who scored. In the consolation bracket, she was defeated via fall by Jewelysa Funakoshi of Emmanuel.
