GREENWOOD, S.C. (March 25) – In its final tournament ahead of the league championship, the University of Mount Olive women's golf program finished 10th overall in the team standings while competing at the Lady Bearcat Invitational.

The Trojans carded a score of 75-over 939 (316-39-314) to finish 10th in the standings in a field of 16 teams, including six in the national rankings. No. 2 Wingate captured the tournament title by seven strokes with a final score of 13-over 877 (295-284-298) with five golfers in the top-20 overall. No. 22 ranked Lander finished second overall after shooting a 20-over 884 (295-295-294) while No. 26 Lincoln Memorial rounded out the top three following a score of 30-over 894 (298-301-295).

Senior Victoria Morelli led the Trojans for a consecutive week after tying for 33rd overall with a 15-over 231 (78-74-79) behind four birdies and 33 pars. She shot an impressive two-over 74 in the second round with three birdies at the Greenwood Country Club.

Just three positions back, sophomore Valentina Agostino tied for 36th on the individual leaderboard after carding a 16-over 232 (78-75-79) with a team-best six birdies while converting 31 pars. Fellow sophomore Lucie Levet leaped 20 spots during the final round after shooting a two-over 74 with three birdies on the front nine. She finished the event tied for 44th at 22-over 238 (83-81-74) with five birdies and 28 pars.

Junior Aoi Ito posted a final score of 24-over 240 (77-81-82) with 35 pars to tie for 50th overall. Fellow junior Violette Daudin tied for 63rd following a score of 28-over 244 (83-79-82) while converting one birdie and 33 pars.

Wingate freshman Amely Bochaton claimed individual medalist honors by seven strokes after shooting a seven-under 209 (71-68-70) with 10 birdies and an eagle.

The Trojans will be idle for nearly two weeks as they prepare to compete at the Conference Carolinas Championship, which will be hosted at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
