MOUNT OLIVE (March 15) – In the second Conference Carolinas match of this season on Saturday afternoon, the Trojans picked up a 6-1 victory over Shorter in Conference Carolinas action at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center. The two teams met for the first time after Shorter joined Conference Carolinas this year, after being part of the Gulf South Conference.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive women's tennis team earned their third straight win to improve to 3-4 overall behind a 2-0 record in conference play. Meanwhile, Shorter drops to 0-4 this season with a 0-2 mark in conference action.

Nina Bernier secured a fast 6-1 decision in only 22 minutes over Sharick Guiza Hernandez and Laura Martín. The sophomore duo of

Victoria Calle produced a 6-0 win in 24 minutes against Sofia Arellano and Sydney Wright in the second position, while junior
Alina Esser and senior
Sandra Riecken delivered a 6-1 decision in 21 minutes at third doubles versus Katrice Ferrell and Danielle Hernandez.
Mount Olive captured five of the six singles matches to secure a 6-1 victory over the Hawks on Saturday. Stamereilers rallied to defeat Guiza in the first slot by a 6-2, 6-4 margin before freshman
Claudia Cerdan battled in the only loss with a 1-6, 4-6 decision to Arellano in the second singles. Szovan claimed the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Martin in the third position, while Calle won by a 6-4, 6-0 margin against Wright in the fourth slot.
