Young Harris, GA – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team battled through a tight contest on the road Wednesday evening, falling 1-0 to No. 5 ranked Young Harris Lions in the first round of Conference Carolinas Championships.
The No. 10 ranked Trojans finish their 2025 season 5-11-3 overall, with a 2-8-3 record in Conference play. Lions moved to 10-5-3 overall, and 8-2-3 in conference.
UMO showed grit and composure on both ends of the field, controlling possessions, while outshooting the Lions 12-7. Mount Olive tallied seven shots on goal but couldn't find the equalizer in a defensive showdown that came down to one moment in the second half.

Natalia Kaminski,
Malia Acevedo,
Sierra Criner,
Tanya Granholm, and
Mia Dixie each added key attempts to keep the pressure on the Young Harris defense.
In goal,
Anais Coyne delivered another strong performance, recording four saves in a full 90 minutes of play. Coyne's leadership and consistency helped keep the match within reach, as the Trojans' back line held firm against a fast-paced Young Harris attack.
