Thompson Leads Trojans to Eighth at Conference Championships

KERNERSVILLE – Sophomore Ayden Thompson led the University of Mount Olive men's cross country team at the Conference Carolinas Championships, placing 35th in the 8k with a time of 27:24.47.

Josh Hendren followed in 40th (27:42.22), with teammates Artem Meltsaiev (60th, 28:30.59), Titus Tanui (61st, 28:32.21), and Spencer Rundell (64th, 28:35.56). Evan Hall placed 65th (28:37.12), and Cullen Pfanmiller finished 72nd (28:52.20).

Trevor Greenier took 76th (28:55.37), followed by Leo Powell in 90th (29:29.77), Devon Coughlin in 130th (32:06.11), Benjamin Bailey in 131st (32:08.50), and Adam Hill in 142nd (34:41.27).

Mount Olive finished eighth overall. UNC Pembroke captured the team title, followed by Young Harris, Southern Wesleyan, Converse, and Lees-McRae.

The Trojans return to action at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Wingate, N.C., on Saturday, Nov. 8.
