Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team delivered a strong performance on the road Wednesday evening but fell just short against the ninth ranked team in the Southeast Region, dropping a 2-1 decision to Francis Marion in Conference Carolinas action.
After a challenging first half, Mount Olive regrouped and came out with renewed energy. In the 55th minute,
Pierce Slater found the back of the net off a clean setup from
Kevin Jimenez, his second goal of the season.
Defensively, goalkeeper
Nick Cutlip continues to make saves between the posts, racking up another two saves.
Nick Cutlip currently ranks third in the conference for save percentage (.816), second in saves per game (4.44), and second in total shut outs (4).
Mount Olive returns home for its last nonconference game against Virginia St. at 5:00 PM on Saturday.
