Boerr named head men's & women's tennis coach

MOUNT OLIVE (Jan. 10) – A former all-conference collegiate tennis player, Julieta Boerr was recently hired as the head men's and women's tennis coach at the University of Mount Olive.

Boerr was a four-year starter in her collegiate career, playing two years at Young Harris College before transferring to Reinhardt University for her final two seasons. She competed in double-digit matches with the Mountain Lions while twice earning Academic Distinction from the Peach Belt Conference. After transferring to Reinhardt, Boerr garnered second-team all-conference honors as a junior and served multiple years as a team captain.

"As someone who came to the U.S. from Argentina to play college tennis, I know the dedication it takes to pursue big goals and overcome challenges. I am incredibly excited to join UMO and lead a tennis program that has been so successful over the years. I am here to continue working hard and maintain a strong team culture, building trust and bonds that will take us where we want to be and help us achieve the things we are striving toward. From the moment I arrived, I already felt like part of the family. When you want to achieve big things, you need people who will help you thrive through any situation, on and off the court. I truly believe we have that here. We've been working hard, we're going to keep doing it, we want this, and we're ready."

Following her graduation from Reinhardt, Boerr worked as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at Reinhardt. She worked primarily with the Eagle football program while providing training programs for the women's soccer and flag football teams.

Boerr also brings coaching experience after serving as the tennis coach at several different clubs. She has instructed proper technique, footwork, and strategic gameplay while providing personalized coaching to assess an individual's strengths and weaknesses.

She holds certifications in Advanced Sports Nutrition and Strength & Conditioning. Boerr is also fluent in English and Spanish.

Boerr received her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Reinhardt University in 2023 before earning a master's degree the following year in sports administration and leadership.
