MOUNT OLIVE (April 13) – The No. 23 ranked University of Mount Olive men's tennis program delivered a dominant performance over Lees-McRae on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 victory in Conference Carolinas play at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 13-3 this season behind a 5-1 mark in league action. Mount Olive has won nine of the last 10 meetings against Lees-McRae dating back to 2014 and is set to close out the regular season next weekend on the road. Meanwhile, the Bobcats drop to 5-12 overall with a 0-6 record in conference play.
During the doubles portion, UMO swept all three matches to claim the point and build a 1-0 edge on Saturday. Senior

Kristoffer Dalbak registered a 6-2 win over Max Borisov and Andrew Kunaka in the first position, while freshman
Lenn Hoffmann and
Bram Poel delivered a quick 6-0 victory against Ezequiel Arce and Andy Tallafigo in second doubles. Sophomore

Adam Ibrahim closed out the session with a 6-4 decision versus Lorenzo Ferrer Maza and Cole Gibson in the third slot.
In singles, the Trojans claimed five of the six matches to complete a 6-1 victory. In the first position, de Oliveira produced a 6-0, 6-0 win over Borisov before Gruenefeldt secured a 6-4, 7-5 victory against Kunaka in the second slot. Dalbak captured a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win while facing Ezequiel Arce in the third spot, and sophomore
Bram Poel suffered a 5-7, 6-1, 0-1 (9-11) loss to Tallafigo in the fourth singles. In the fifth position, fellow sophomore
Kabir Chhabria posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory while Ibrabim recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win versus Hudson Hoskins.
Mount Olive returns to Conference Carolinas action on Friday, April 19, to face Converse on the road at 1 p.m.
