MURFREESBORO, N.C. (March 20) – In the opening match of Conference Carolinas action, the No. 22 ranked Trojans continued their impressive winning streak with a 6-1 victory at Chowan while competing at the Rose Family Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
With the win, the University of Mount Olive men's tennis team secures its ninth straight win to improve to 9-1 this season with a 1-0 mark in league play. The Trojans have won the last 11 meetings in the series dating back to 2011. Meanwhile, Chowan falls to 0-6 overall behind a 0-1 record in conference action.
Mount Olive quickly grabbed the doubles point after sweeping all three matches on Wednesday afternoon. In the first position, senior

Kristoffer Dalbak produced a 6-3 win over Cristobal Fuentes and Gabriel Gomes, while sophomore
Niklas Gruenefeldt and senior
Adam Ibrahim earned a 6-1 victory in second doubles versus Marcel Ungerboeck and Nikola Cvetanovic. In the third slot, freshman
Lenn Hoffmann and sophomore
Bram Poel delivered a 6-0 win against Alvaro Juscamaita and Huascar Urbina.
In the singles session, the Trojans captured five of the six matches to secure a 6-1 win in the conference opener. de Oliveira posted a 6-1, 6-2 decision in the first position over Ungerboeck while Gruenefeldt suffered a narrow 3-6, 6-4, 0-1 (10-12) loss to Fuentes in second singles. Dalbak delivered a straight sets win over Cvetanovic by a 6-3, 6-2 margin in the third slot and Poel followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Gomes. Sophomore
Kabir Chhabria registered a 7-1 win in the fifth position versus Cvetanovic, while UMO won via default in the sixth singles.
The Trojans will be idle for nearly a week before hosting Francis Marion on Tuesday, March 26 in Conference Carolinas action at 2 p.m.
