MOUNT OLIVE (Feb. 4) – After winning all 10 matches on Sunday afternoon, the Trojans cruised past Allen by a 50-0 margin in dual meet competition at Kornegay Arena.

With the win, the University of Mount Olive women's wrestling program surpasses its all-time win total in dual meets and improves to 8-4 overall. It marks the first meeting between the sides with the Yellow Jackets in their first year as a program. Meanwhile, Allen drops to 3-7 in their inaugural season.

The Trojans established an early 5-0 advantage following a forfeit at 101 before junior Samantha Miller (109) extended the lead with a first-period fall over Jillian Lackey. With UMO leading by a score of 10-0, Mount Olive received back-to-back forfeits at 116 and 123. Freshman Brielle Bibla competed in the 130-weight class and delivered a fall in the opening period against Alicia Coleman, 25-0.

At 136, freshman Angelica Steffy registered a first-period pin versus Tonai Moore, while sophomore Skyelar Smith (143) posted a win against Cathia Timas following an injury during the second period. In the 155-weight class, sophomore Nia Miranda produced a quick first-period fall over Tameshia Davis before the Trojans collected a forfeit at 170. In the final match, sophomore Jada Arnold (191) recorded a fall versus Stephanie Gonzalez Galvan to seal the victory, 50-0.

The Trojans return to the mat on Sunday, Feb. 1, when they travel to University Heights, Ohio, for the JCU Open.
