WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Dec. 8) – The University of Mount Olive men's and women's track & field program closed the season-opening week by competing at the JDL Early Bird Invite on Sunday.
Freshman
Titus Tanui registered a fourth-place finish in the 1,000 meters after crossing the line in 2 minutes, 44.26 seconds. In the 3,000 meters, senior
Riley Willcox placed 10th overall with a time of 9:10.46 while competing in a field of nearly 30 runners.
In the 400 meters, freshman
Macie Inman posted a time of 62.58 seconds to earn a seventh-place finish in the seeded section. Fellow freshman
Jakaii Dixon and Nasir Preston Arocho also competed in the seed 400 meters on Sunday. Preston Arocho placed 11th overall with a time of 53.36 seconds and Dixon finished 16th with a mark of 54.78 seconds.
Natalyah Wilson competed in the high jump and placed 10th overall after clearing 1.42 meters.
Mount Olive will be idle over the winter break before returning to action on Friday, January 10, at The Burg Open.
