ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (Oct. 15) – After firing the second-lowest final-round score on Tuesday, the Trojans claimed a third-place finish in the team standings while competing at the St. Simons Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial.
Flagler cruised to the tournament championship with a score of two-over 866 (283-388-295) with all five golfers in the lineup finishing among the top 10 overall. The host Lady Railsplitters finished second in the team standings after carding a 51-over 915 (309-299-307), while Mount Olive placed third with a 56-over 920 (315-305-300).
Sophomore
Lucie Levet captured a consecutive top-10 finish after tying for fifth on the individual leaderboard, climbing three spots on the final day. She registered a score of seven-over 223 (76-74-73) with six birdies and 36 pars at The King & Prince Golf Club.
Junior
Aoi Ito secured her third finish within the top 15 overall while competing in her initial fall campaign with the Trojans. She carded a 13-over 229 (78-78-73) to tie for 15th with four birdies and a team-best 39 pars in three rounds of competition. Sophomore
Valentina Agostino tied for 17th overall behind a score of 14-over 230 (79-75-76) with five birdies and 33 pars.
Senior
Victoria Morelli and junior
Elin Kennborn tied for 31st on the leaderboard while competing in Georgia. Morelli moved up nine positions on Tuesday and scored a 24-over 240 (83-78-79) with six birdies and 23 pars. Kennborn jumped 13 slots in the standings and finished with a 24-over 240 (82-80-78) behind four birdies and 30 pars.
Flager junior Henriette Standa secured medalist honors with a two-under 214 (67-72-75) with 13 birdies over three rounds of play.
Mount Olive finishes the fall portion of its schedule next week at the 21st Annual Flagler Fall Slam hosted at the Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida.
