Emma Leclercq remained in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard following the second round of play at the Conference Carolinas Championships on Monday at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.
The Trojans stayed fifth in the team standings after shooting a 31-over 319 on the second day of the league event. The University of Mount Olive women's golf team sits 10 strokes back of the top three entering the final round with a 58-over 634 (315-319). Defending league-champion, UNC Pembroke climbed atop the standings after registering the lowest round of the tournament and holds a seven-stroke lead with a 40-over 616 (312-304). Erskine leaped two positions and ranks second with a 47-over 623 (314-309), while Converse sits third with a 48-over 624 (315-309).
Morelli carded a five-over 77 in the second round to sit in a tie for sixth overall on the individual leaderboard with an eight-over 152 (75-77). She delivered a birdie on the par-four first hole before recording an eagle on the par-four sixth. Morelli closed the round with nine pars over the final 11 holes.
Leclercq fell two slots in the standings after finishing with a six-over 78 on the second day and ranks 10th overall with an 11-over 155 (77-78). She carded an even-par on the back nine and fired a birdie on the par-three 15th. She is tied for seventh in the field with 22 pars made.
Senior
Grace Olmstead posted a nine-over 81 in the second round and is tied for 22nd place with a 16-over 160 (79-81). Freshman
Violette Daudin cut two strokes off her opening round score on Monday by recording an 11-over 83. She sits tied for 34th overall with a 24-over 168 (85-83). Senior
Elise Davies rounds out the team after carding a 14-over 86 on the second day and is tied for 36th place with a 26-over 170 (84-86).
UNC Pembroke redshirt senior Amanda Hamrin fired a three-over 75 in the second round to secure a one-stroke lead heading into the final round.
UMO closes play at the Conference Carolinas Championships tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18, with tee times starting at approximately 9 a.m.
