MOUNT OLIVE (Feb. 26) – After sweeping the doubles point, the University of Mount Olive's women's tennis team defeated Coker by a 4-3 margin on Sunday afternoon at John Neal Walker Tennis Center in a non-conference dual match.
With the win, the Trojans end their losing streak and improve to 3-8 this season with two more non-conference matches on the schedule. Meanwhile, the Cobras fall to 1-4 this season.

Nele Weber defeated Tamara Macias and Sydnee Foster with a 6-1 score, before senior
Ingrid Montserrat and freshman
Oriana Izarra captured a 6-3 win over Jessica Binzari and Angelina Krieg in the second slot. Finally, in the third session, junior
Jessica Aylward and freshman
Laura Servien overcame Olivia Drake and Caroline Myers with a score of 6-2.
The Trojans sealed the victory by posting three out of six wins in singles play. In first position, Montserrat fell by a 6-4, 6-0 margin to Binzari, before Voloshyna dropped to Macias with a score of 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Izarra battled down Krieg 6-1, 6-4 to secure the win in the third slot. In fourth singles, Weber captured a 6-1, 6-2 win against Foster, before Servien followed suit to register a straight-set 6-1, 6-0 win over Claire Nance. In sixth singles, freshman
Harshri Asher suffered a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Drake.
Mount Olive returns to action this Friday, Mar. 3, when they face the Seahawks of UNC Wilmington on the road at 3 p.m.
