OAKWOOD, Ga. (Nov. 4) – The University of Mount Olive men's cross country program placed 20th overall in the team standings on Saturday morning while competing at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships hosted by North Georgia.

The Trojans featured six runners in the race and finished 20th with 528 points. Wingate earned its third-straight regional title with a perfect 15 points after the Bulldogs secured the top seven spots on the individual leaderboard. Augusta claimed second place with 76 points behind two runners in the top-10 and Catawba finished third with 95 points.

For a fifth straight race, junior Riley Willcox paced the Trojans and placed 60th overall after posting a time of 32:22.8 over the 10-kilometer race. He posted an average mile time of 5:12.6 in his first appearance at regionals. Willcox had an outstanding junior campaign for the Trojans highlighted by third-team all-conference honors at the league championships.

Fellow junior Ashton Olmstead finished 93rd in a field of over 180 competitors and registered a career-best time of 33:23.9 while competing in Georgia. Junior Richard Villafranco crossed the line with a personal best time of 34:01.0 to place 118th, while freshman Evan Hall was 10 spots back and finished 128th with a time of 34:26.5 in his first appearance at regionals.

Senior Nathanael Bierly recorded a career-best time on Saturday to finish 133rd behind a time of 34:36.5. Sophomore Josh Hendren posted a time of 34:49.7 to place 140th on the individual leaderboard in his first appearance on the regional stage.

Wingate junior Titouan Le Grix secured the individual regional crown by just over 10 seconds after crossing the line with a time of 28:45.0 with an average mile time of 4:37.6.
