GREENWOOD, S.C. (Oct. 21) – The University of Mount Olive women's volleyball program suffered a pair of losses in a crossover tournament on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 to the host Lander before dropping a 3-0 decision to Augusta in non-conference play.
With the losses, the Trojans fall to 16-9 overall after playing their final two non-conference bouts of the year. UMO closes the regular season with five straight league matches in Kornegay Arena.
Against Lander (16-8) of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), Mount Olive was dealt a 3-1 loss (22-25, 25-22, 13-25, 15-25) after the Bearcats delivered 47 kills on a .277 hitting percentage. Junior
Ashlyn Stone produced nine kills and five digs, while senior
Neza Pec also contributed nine kills, two service aces, and eight digs. Fellow junior
Karoline Cox finished with seven kills, two aces, and three blocks (two solo) over four sets played. Senior
Jenna Myer registered 14 assists and five digs, while freshman
Lyndsay Reid posted 12 assists and five digs on Saturday.

Morgan Prots led the defensive effort with 21 digs and added four assists in the opening match.
Against Augusta (18-4) of the PBC, the Trojans suffered a 3-0 loss (9-25, 20-25, 23-25) after the Jaguars totaled 41 kills and seven blocks. Stone registered double-digit kills with 11 and tallied three digs, while Cox produced eight kills on a .250 clip with two digs on Saturday evening. Myer directed the offense with 13 assists and added five digs.
Prots totaled 16 digs in the loss while totaling three assists and two service aces. Pec also reached double figures with 11 digs, while Reid finished with nine assists and eight digs.
Mount Olive returns to Kornegay Arena on Friday, October, 27, when it hosts Converse on Senior Night at 6:00 p.m.
