MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive's women's lacrosse team played the Flying Fleet of Erskine College in conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex. The Trojans won 26-4 and improved their conference record to 6-0.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The Trojans came off the draw strong as they were able to collect three goals to take the early lead. Erskine player, Faith Flanagan, saw the back of the cage bringing the score 3-1, still in favor of the Trojans. After the Erskine goal, the Trojans were able to gain nine more scoring opportunities. The score stood at 12-1. Chandler Werner scored the Flying Fleets second goal of the game, but Erskine was still behind 10 points. Flanagan was able to score two more goals for the Fleet, but the Trojans kept pressing toward the cage and inevitably pushed the lead even further. At the end of the first half, the score stood at 21-3 in UMO's favor.
In the second half of the game UMO was able to score five goals to Erskine's one. Mount Olive used their large lead to work on their possession game. All Mount Olive players saw the field and worked together to get the win. UMO had a 100% success rate for clears and outshot the Fleet 37-10. At the end of the final quarter the Trojans won 26-4.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was when UMO outscored Erskine 14-2 in the first quarter of the game, establishing a large lead that pushed the Trojans for the sixth straight conference win of the season.

Mount Olive was led by
Ali Davis and
Shaelyn Yermal who scored three goals apiece. All but five players were able to get onto the score board.
FLEET LEADERS
Erskine was led by Faith Flanagan with three goals and Chandler Werner with one goal and one assist.
