Mount Olive, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive baseball team defeated Virginia State University in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday at Scarborough Field. UMO moves to 26-16.
GAME INFORMATION
The opening game saw UMO open the scoring with Jack Casbarro belting a first-pitch home run in the first. The Trojans went onto add three more runs and take a four-run lead. Mount Olive added four runs in the second and combined to add 10 more scores to take an 18-0 lead after the fifth. VSU had no answer and failed to score a run, only collecting six hits.
Game two saw UMO take an early 3-0 lead, and hold the visiting Trojans hitless until the sixth. The sixth inning hit was all the Mount Olive pitching staff allowed as they cruised to another shutout victory 8-0.

The Trojans now hit the road to return to conference play against arch-rival Barton College April 23-24, in Wilson, N.C.
