Murfreesboro, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive Women's tennis team took down Chowan University 5-1 in a conference matchup Wednesday afternoon in Murfreesboro, N.C.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Trojans swept the doubles play by winning all three match-ups.
UMO then went 4-1 in singles to finish the match with an overall score of 5-1.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
- The Trojans dominated the doubles play winning the only doubles match of the match as No. 3 was a walkover in favor of UMO and Mount Olive claimed the doubles point.
- No. 1 Liza Voloshyna/Nele Weber won 6-1 against the Hawks. No. 2 doubles Ingrid Montserrat/Deike Schipper then beat the Hawks 6-1.
- UMO then went into singles play and managed to get four more wins to secure the 5-1 victory.
- Following a walkover win at No. 6 singles No. 5 got UMO the second singles point.
- Deike Schipper got the second singles point with a quick 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 4 flight.
- Singles flight three was won by the Hawks 6-3, 6-1.
- The No. 1 and No. 2 flights ended the match in favor of UMO and the Trojans took the match.
