Trojan Softball Sweeps Converse On The Road

Spartanburg, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive softball team swept a doubleheader against Converse taking game one 14-2 and game two 11-2 Sunday afternoon. UMO now improves to 22-6, 5-1 on the season.

GAME ONE INFORMATION
Mount Olive came out with the early momentum scoring two runs off RBI base knocks from Kylie Emanuele and Cassandra Lassiter.

Converse scored one of its two runs in the bottom of the first before UMO continued the attack. Mount Olive added 12 more runs over the next four innings and only surrendered one run in the bottom of the fifth taking the mercy-rule victory 12-2.

TROJAN LEADERS
Emanuele led the Trojans with four RBI going a perfect 4-4.
Hailey Kessinger (2-0) went the distance allowing two runs, off two hits and struck out nine.

GAME TWO INFORMATION
In game two Converse was not able to stop the Trojan offense nor put up much of a fight on the other side of the ball. Mount Olive cruised to an 11-0 lead after the sixth and allowed Converse to score two runs before the took game two by the mercy-rule as well 11-2

TROJAN LEADERS
Carly Curcio led UMO with three hits and four RBI in game two.

Hailey Kessinger (3-0) went back-to-back starts again going the distance allowing two runs, off four hits and struck out three.

The Trojans remain on the road to take on Elizabeth City State March 22 at 2 p.m. in Elizabeth City, N.C.
