LEXINGTON, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive baseball team dropped a midweek contest to Georgia College 7-5 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Lexington County Stadium. UMO drops to 6-3 overall, while Georgia College improves to 8-5.

GAME INFORMATION
The Bobcats of Georgia College struck first in the second inning. An RBI-double gave GC the lead until the fourth. Alden Cottle singled home a run in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game.

The Bobcats went onto add two runs via a home run in the sixth increasing the lead to 4-1. Following a single run by GC in the eighth inning, Mount Olive countered in the bottom half. The biggest hit of the game for UMO came off the bat of Cottle who belted a grand slam to give UMO their only lead of the afternoon.

Georgia College pushed back in the ninth and added three runs to the board to regain the lead 7-5. UMO was only able to collect one hit in the bottom of the ninth and fell to Bobcats 7-5 on the road.

TROJAN LEADERS
Cottle led the team with five RBI on his 2-for-4 day. Caleb Irwin (0-1) was pinned with the loss in relief allowing one run off two hits and struck out two.

ON DECK
The Mount Olive Trojans will remain on the road as they open up Conference Carolinas play with a three-game series at Emmanuel College on February 25-26, in Franklin Springs, Ga.
