PROVO, Utah- The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team fell to the No. 8 Division I Cougars of Brigham Young University 3-2. This loss take the Trojans to 2-1 overall.  

GAME INFORMATION
Mount Olive started off strong as they took the first two points in set one. The Cougars answered back with two straight points tying set one at two. The two teams were back and forth until UMO took a three-point run to take an 8-5 lead. Brigham Young answered back with unstoppable offense to tie the set at 10. The Trojan offense took another three-point run to take the 13-10 lead. The Cougars had set point but could not stop the Trojan offense as they scored four straight points to win the first set 26-24.

The second set started with each team going back and forth until the Cougars took a two point run to take the 8-6 lead. The BYU offense then took a four-point lead over the Trojans 15-11. UMO fought back to come within three of the Cougars 16-13. Brigham Young finished the set with a crucial three point run to win set two 25-19. 

Set three started out in favor of the Cougars when they earned a 4-1 lead. The Trojans then took back control of the set 9-7 as they took a four-point run. The Cougars answered back with four-points taking back the lead 11-9. After dropping 22-18 the Trojans could not hold off the Cougars as Brigham Young won set 3 25-20. ]

The Trojans took control of the fourth set with an early 2-0 lead. A three point Cougar run had the Trojans down by two 7-5. A kill from Eric Visgitis tied the set at eight. The Trojans took the lead and held on to it for the remainder of the set, securing the fourth set 25-22. 

A dominating Trojan offense took a powerful 4-0 lead to start the fifth set. A four-point Cougar run, later in the set gave Brigham Young the lead 8-7. For the next four points the two teams were back and fourth until the Cougars took another four point run. Brigham Young was too far ahead for the Trojans to come back as the Cougars took set five and the match 15-12.

The Trojans were led by Tobi Azeez with 17 kills. Jarrod Ferguson added 38 assists.

The Cougars were led by Miks Ramanis with 23 kills.

"Tonight's match showed a lot of great things for us and what's to come this season. We didn't have the numbers we hoped for but the fight, energy, and pure enjoyment of playing in such an awesome atmosphere was awesome to see from the guys. I'm looking forward to another battle Saturday," said Head Coach Ali'i Keohohou.
