Mount Olive, NC- The University of Mount Olive Trojans defeated Newberry College 3-1 in non-conference action Saturday night. The contest was the home-opener for UMO.
INSIDE THE SCORE
The opening half UMO began with the momentum as Mustafa Nadeem gave the Trojans the early lead 5:35 into the first. Newberry had an answer less than seven minutes later and the game was tied at the half.
Mount Olive 3:46 into the second period found the go-ahead score as Nadeem collected his second goal of the game. Less than a minute later Alfie Pope put the game out of reach and moved UMO up 3-1.
The Trojans locked down the game sealing the win in their home-opener.

The Trojans were led by Mustafa Nadeem with two of UMO's three goals.
NEWBERRY LEADERS
The Wolves were led by Moses Bakabulindi with the only Newberry goal of the match.
KEY MOMENT
The determining factor in the match was Nadeem's go-ahead score in the 49th minute.
