SUMTER, S.C. - The No. 1 seeded Mount Olive Trojans beats the No. 2 Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College on Sunday afternoon to capture the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship title at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Trojans led the doubles round winning doubles 1 and 2 to earn the doubles point. UMO then went 3-1 in the singles matches taking a 4-1 victory.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
No. 1 Gui De Oliveira / Armando Ferreira and No. 2 Israel Rodriguez / Victor Nunez doubles match up both made quick work of their opponents both winning 6-3 and 6-4 to earn the doubles point.
Guilherme Zotin De Oliveira in the No. 2 singles match fought hard and took the win in three sets (4-6,6-1,6-2) for the first singles match. Adam Ibrahim took out the No. 3 singles match (6-3,6-3) to earn the second singles point. Victor Nunez fell in the No. 6 singles match (6-2,6-4). Trojans earned the automatic qualifying berth into the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament May 7-9 hosted by the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Ga. Participating teams will be announced Tuesday, May 4. The men's tennis selection show will air at 8 p.m. on NCAA.com
