No. 6 Seed Men's Tennis Season Comes to a Close After Loss to No. 3 Seed North Georgia in the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Southeast Regional

DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The University of Mount Olive regular season and Conference Carolina Champions season comes to a close after putting up a great fight against the Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia 4-0 in the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Southeast Regional.
 

MATCH INFORMATION
The Nighthawks led the doubles round winning doubles 2 and 3 to earn the doubles point. UMO then went 0-3 in the singles matches as North Georgia took the 4-0 win.

Order of finish: Doubles (2,3)

INSIDE THE RESULTS
No. 2 doubles matchup Zach Waldow/Joaquin Benoit and No. 3 Giulio Sassi/Jared Bones from North Georgia defeated Israel Rodriguez Rojas/ Victor Nunez 6-2 and Adam Ibrahim/Diego Ortega Cadahia 6-3 to earn the double point. 

Gregory Normand in the No. 5 singles lost to the Nighthawks Giulio Sassi in two sets (6-0, 6-1) for the first singles point. Zach Waldow defeated UMO's Israel Rodriguez Rojas (6-4, 6-2) to earn the second singles point for North Georgia. Lastly,  Victor Nunez also battled the Nighthawks but lost at No. 3 (6-2, 6-4) for the third singles point. North Georgia's Daniel Ostap secured the win for the Nighthawks and took the 4-0 win. 

Order of finish: Singles (5,4,3)

UP NEXT 
Mount Olive's season comes to a close with winning the 2021 regular-season and Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship. The Trojans finished an outstanding season with an 12-4,7-1 record and will return to action for the 2021-2022 season.
