BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Trojans traveled to Banner Elk, North Carolina for their last regular season doubleheader of the year, Saturday afternoon. The Trojans lost game one, 9-8, and won game two, 3-1.
GAME ONE INFORMATION
The Bobcats struck first. In the bottom of the first inning with two runners on base, the Bobcats' Katelyn Wyatt doubled to left center, bringing in a run and taking a 1-0 lead. Not to be behind too long, the Trojans answered back in the top of the second inning. After getting two runners on base
Alexis Oliver came to bat and delivered, ripping a double down the right field line, scoring both base runners and giving the Trojans a 2-1 lead. One batter later,
Megan Bryant sent a shot up the middle, scoring another two Trojans, giving Mount Olive a 4-1 lead. In the bottom of the second, the Bobcats tied the game at four with one swing, when Julie Gast launched a three-run homerun over the left field wall.
After a quiet third inning, The Trojans scored a run in the top of the fourth inning when an error by the pitcher allowed Oliver to sprint home, taking a 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, the Bobcats scored two runs off two singles, retaking the lead 6-5.
Breanna Voelker singled to begin the sixth inning. After a strikeout,
Courtlynn Cooney and
Cassandra Lassiter both singled to load the bases.
Kylie Emanuele brought home two Trojans with a single to center field, giving the Trojans a 7-6 lead. Emanuele's at-bat was followed by a sacrifice fly to right field from
Madison Morgan, scoring another, and extending the Trojans lead to 8-6. The Bobcats responded in the bottom of the sixth by scoring three, and going on to win, 9-8.
KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Bobcats were down two runs and exploded for three runs off the back of a single and an error to take the lead and final, 9-8.

GAME TWO INFORMATION
With a runner on base in the bottom of the first inning, the Bobcats got on the board first with a single to right field, scoring one and taking the lead, 1-0. The Trojans'
Madison Morgan ripped a double to center field to get on base in the top of the second inning. Her at-bat was followed by
Cana Shrock singling to right field, scoring Morgan and tying the game at one.
After
Mallory Ratcliff retired the side in order in innings two and three, it was time for the Trojans offense to add more. With Emanuele on base, Shrock launched a ball over the wall, extending the Trojans lead to 3-1. Ratcliff only allowed two combined hits over the next four innings, cruusing to a personal win, and team win, 3-1.
KEY MOMENT
In the top of the fourth inning, with the game tied at one,
Cana Shrock hit a two-run homerun, givng the Trojans the lead, and final, 3-1.

ON DECK
Today's game signaled the end of the regular season. The Trojans will be the number two seed heading into the Conference Carolinas Championship that takes place in Duncan, South Carolina. Their first game in the double elimination championship will be Thursday, April 22nd, when they take on the seventh seeded, Southern Wesleyan.
