Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team defeated North Greenville University 6-1 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Trojans held the early lead after the doubles round winning all three doubles. UMO then won five singles sets to take home the 6-1 victory.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
No.3 Arianna Orozco/Bipasha Mehn and No.1 Liza Voloshyna/Nele Weber made quick work of their opponents both winning 6-0 to earn the doubles point. No. 2 Ingrid Montserrat/Deike Schipper also won their match at 7-6(3).
In singles action, UMO won the No. 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 bouts while the Crusaders took No. 3, to take the singles games.
Larissa Berger won at No.3 over Nele Weber in two sets (6-2, 6-1) as the only point UMO lost on the day. Deike Schipper won at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-0) for the first singles point. Orzoco took down No. 5 (6-0,6-0). Voloshyna won at No. 1 singles (6-0,6-1) for the third singles point. Ece Yuksel then picked up the fourth singles point at No. 4 winning (6-0,6-2) Lastly following the slip at No. 3 UMO took the No. 2 singles match as Montserrat won a marathon match (5-7,6-1,1-0(7)) to secure the win.
