MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Mount Olive Trojans returned to action for the first time in fifteen days against the Methodist University Monarchs. The Trojans would sweep the doubleheader.
GAME ONE INFORMATION
The day started at 1pm with a pitch from game one starter, freshman
Hannah Killough. Killough would walk the first batter, then sit down the next three. The Trojans started the scoring in the bottom half of the first, scoring three runs with the last one coming off the bat from Killough, helping her own cause. Going into the third inning the Trojans had exploded on offense, carrying a 7-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth inning outfielder
Heather Childress would send a SAC Fly out to left field, extending the Trojans lead to12-0. The score would stay that way, ending after just five innings due to Killough's dominant day in the circle. She finished the game with 13 strikeouts, 0 hits allowed and 1 walked batter over five innings. The Trojans got help from everyone down the lineup, six batters each collected an RBI.Â

KEY MOMENT
The bottom of the first inning when the Trojans jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Their lead would only grow as they went on to win the game, 12-0.Â
GAME TWO INFORMATION
The second game of the doubleheader began how the first game ended, with the Trojans offense getting on the board first.
Cana Shrock sent a ball to left field scoring two.
Ashlyn Porter would add a RBI single, giving the Trojans a 4-0 lead after one inning. The Trojans would get the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning. Three runs would come across the plate, the last one via an RBI single from
Courtlynn Cooney, giving them a 7-0 lead. Not to be outdone by her fellow counterpart, pitcher
Mallory Ratcliff blanked the Monarchs in game two. Only allowing two hits while striking out five.
Cassandra Lassiter would hit home a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, giving the Trojans a 8-0 lead. Ultimately winning by that score in five innings.Â

Courtlynn Cooney would go 3-3 in game two while collecting an RBI.
