DUE WEST, South Carolina - The Mount Olive Trojans defeated the Flying Fleet 68-59 on Saturday afternoon. The team earned an important win in a shortened season, improving to 4-7 on the year with five games remaining.

INSIDE THE SCORE
Both teams exchanged buckets to begin the game until Mount Olive got out to a 17-8 lead, seven minutes into the first half courtesy of a Johnny Hughes III hot hand accounting for 6 of the points and Alan Treakle adding two three balls of his own. With just over five minutes left in the first half Mount Olive clung to a 1 point lead, 21-20. The teams would trade buckets down to the last minute with Travis Walters of the Flying Feet scoring a layup through contact and sinking his free-throw to give Erskine College a 31-30 lead going into halftime. 

Alan Treakle would hit another three pointer to begin the second half, giving the Trojans a 33-31 lead. Matthew Brown would answer back with a layup to tie the game at 33 a piece. At the twelve minute mark, Calvin Washington would hit a layup, extending the Trojans lead to 50-45. Similar to the first half, the teams played each other close and exchanged buckets. With 3 minutes left and the score 56-55 Trojans, Mount Olive went on a 5-0 run, extending their lead to 61-55. This would prove to be enough as the Trojans held on for the win, 68-59.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Johnny Hughes III led the way with 24 points. Cole Johnson added 14, along with Alan Treakle's 12, including 4-7 from three. 

ERSKINE LEADERS
Matthew Brown had 11 points on the night, followed by Emandi Brooks scoring 10 of his own.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment came in the second half when the Trojans went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead by six. The Flying Feet couldn't overcome the deficit and eventually lost, 68-59.
