Spartanburg, S.C. --- The UMO Men's and Women's Cross Country team competed at the 2021 NCAA DII Southeast Regional Championships, on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Spartanburg, S.C.

Race Information:
The 2021 NCAA II Southeast Regional Championships were held on the home course of Converse University. The Mount Olive women finished 12th/22 teams, with a combined 325 points. The men finished 9th/23 teams, with a collective 279 points.
How They Finished:
On the women's side, Laila Abouzaid led the Trojans taking a top-30 finish at 22:33.3 taking 27th.
Vennise Shelton took 55th with a time of 23:30.9.
Monique Whiteman, after suffering an injury in the conference championship, returned to the course finishing as the third Trojan, taking 65th (23.54.5). Sydney MacDonald took 84th with a time of 24:32.3. Rounding out the top-five for UMO was
Elizabeth Lopez taking 101st with a time of 25:23.1.
Deike Schipper finished 111th (25:45.3) and
Paige Witteborg finished 136th (26:55.8) to round out the UMO runners.
For the men,
Cameron Lee posted a top-40 finish, coming in 40th place with a time of 32:48.4.
Aidan Gilbride finished in 48th place with a time of 33:14.1. Luis Hernandez-Perez came in 65th with a time of 34:09.8,
Ashton Olmstead came in 68th place (34:12.8), and
Shane Moran came in 73rd place with a time of 34:19.4, to round of the top-five runners for the Trojans.
Richard Villafranco was the final Trojan to cross the line at 34:27.0 earning him 77th.
What's Next:
The Trojans season has come to a close following the NCAA DII Southeast Regional, and the team will now prepare for indoor track season.
