Box Score Columbus, GA: The UMO Women's Soccer Team came up short in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to No. 7 Columbus State 3-1 Friday night in Columbus, Ga.
Jaslyn Gott was the lone Trojan to get on the board.
Game Information:
This was the second NCAA Tournament appearance for the Trojans, after making it in 2019.
How it Happened:
The Trojans struck first early, with Gott scoring off of a cross from
Ashley Kerekes five minutes into the game to give UMO a 1-0 lead. The Trojans would hold the lead for the entire first half, with the defense coming up big, including a penalty kick save by
Taylor Lewis to keep the Cougars from tying the game.
Jasmine Pinter led the Trojans with three shots total, half of the team total.
In the second half, the Cougars jumped out to tie the game in the first 30 seconds. CSU then took the lead less then two minutes later. Columbus State held UMO off the board and scored the final goal in the 62nd minute. Mount Olive was only able to force two shots in the second half and fell 3-1.

History was made for the Trojans, as Gott scored the first NCAA Tournament goal in program history during the game.
