Men's Basketball Falls to Lees-McRae in Game Two 74-59

Banner Elk, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to Lees-McRae College 74-59 in game two in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats improve to 3-0, while the Trojans fall to 0-2 to begin their season.

INSIDE THE SCORE
Lees-McRae opened the contest scoring the first five points before UMO responded with two points of their own making the score 5-2 with 17:58 remaining.
The Bobcats continued to build their lead and used a 17-2 run to move ahead by 15 and take the lead 22-7 with 8:12 remaining in the fist half. LMC maintained their lead for the reminder of the first half not allowing Mount Olive a chance to tie the game and took a 40-24 lead at the horn.

Mount Olive cut Lees-McRae's lead to nine points, 45-36 at the 15:05 mark. The Trojans continued to fight as they went on a 16-15 run to try and bridge the gap, but still trailed behind 60-52 with 8:44 remaining in the game. The home-standing LMC reopened a lead by 15 points as the Bobcats maintained control and took the 74-59 victory.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
Johnny Hughes III led the Trojans with 16 points, three assists, and one steal. 

BOBCAT LEADERS
Quay Kimble led LMC with 14 points, five assists, and four steals. 

KEY MOMENT
The game's key moment was in the first half when the Bobcats went on a 17-2 run to move ahead by 15 to take the lead and not allowing Mount Olive a chance to tie the game to take home the 74-59 victory.

Mount Olive will back on the road in conference action in Bristol, Tenn., January 19th facing King University at 5 P.M.
