Spartanburg, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over Converse College in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon in Spartanburg, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- UMO grabbed two-straight victories in doubles play at No. 1 and No. 3 to open the match.
- Juniors Nichole La Chappelle and Mariana Gamboa grabbed an 8-0 sweep at No. 3 doubles, followed by senior Stella Di Michele and sophomore Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez taking an 8-2 win at No. 1.
- Converse pulled within one as the Valkyries closed out doubles action with an 8-7 (7-3) win at No. 2.
- In singles action, Gamboa captured a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 and Gonzalez-Rodriguez won her matchup at No. 2, 6-2, 6-0, to give UMO a 4-1 advantage.
- The Trojans closed out Converse with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 singles by freshman Areej Fareh that earned UMO the victory.
- Di Michelle won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-0, and senior Alejandra Hernandez grabbed a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 to add to the Trojans' final margin.
