Box Score Bradon Reitano has been named the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Player of the week for week three. This is the second time he has been awarded player of the week.
Reitano hit two home runs in back to back days against California University (Pa.) to help the University of Mount Olive win 6-1 in game one and a decisive 23-2 win in the third game of the series. In game one Reitano homered in the first inning when he took an inside pitch and curved it around the left field foul pole. Two innings later he connected again for his second solo shot of the game.
In the rubber match after the first two batters got on in the first with a double and a single, Reitano brought in the first run with a RBI-double. He then came back around again as the Trojans batted around in the inning and hit a three-run home run to left field to highlight a ten run inning put up by Mount Olive. Reitano connected on his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot that sparked another big inning by the Trojans as they added eight more runs in the eight and defeated Cal (Pa.) to take the series. On the season thus far Reitano is hitting .444 with a .870 slugging percentage.
Nationally twelfth-ranked Mount Olive will return home this weekend to host Florida Southern in a weekend series with a doubleheader to be played on Saturday and a single game finale on Sunday. First pitch Saturday is slated for 12 p.m.
